Happy 8th birthday, IHOP!

happybirthdayihop.jpg
Today is an awesome day in IHOP-KC's history. On September 19, 1999, the prayer meeting that started is continuing this very moment. IHOP has, by the grace of God, gone for 8 years straight, 24/7, without stopping.

Last Sunday, we celebrated the Lord's faithfulness to us as a family at John Anderson Park here in south KC with food, games, and fun. Some folks played the traditional games like volleyball, basketball, and soccer, but we also had ultimate frisbee, horseshoes, chess, spoons, and "loser's chess". I can't imagine playing that one - you've got to put yourself in checkmate in the smallest number of moves. Crazy.

Mike Bickle had his football team ready to go again this year, and man, that guy can still throw a football. Check out this video.

I've also added some new photos of the event to my photo galleries. Don't forget you can comment on photos by clicking on the title below the thumbnail!

While it's always fun to celebrate, I have a soberness in my spirit about what God has called us to as we move forward. This is about something far bigger than our little prayer ministry. God has the nations of the earth on His mind. He is training us and raising us up to be a small part of the prayer movement He is orchestrating globally to usher in the return of His Son. Give us grace to stay steady, God, for another 8 years!

but, it never stops....?

so, who had to keep the fire burning while everyone was partying??

Marvin and Misty

Marvin Adams did a devotional set at 2pm and then Misty did one at 4pm...

It never stopped! :)
