Onething Minneapolis Day 3... and 4

The conference has been going well thus far! The Lord has really met the young adults that have come. On Thursday night, the main auditorium and the overflow were totally packed. We had about 1200 people here. I heard rumors we actually had to turn away a few walk-in registrations because we were over capacity and would be in violation of fire codes. It really stinks to have to do that... All the more reason to register (its free) ahead of time to guarantee a spot.

Anyways, Jen Roberts spoke the first night from Song of Solomon 4 and the extravagant love of God. Many young adults were deeply impacted and responded at the ministry time. What kind of God do we serve and love that would give Himself totally to us, even to the point of death on a cross? Amazing.

This conference was a little unusual schedule wise, because we normally don't hold a Thursday night session but typically start on Friday. It was nice for the team to be able to sleep in on Friday morning!

Friday night's session was awesome. Justin Rizzo led worship and Corey Russell spoke. I love playing and singing Justin's songs - they are filled with and are straight from the Word of God. We sang "Gift of God", straight from Ephesians 2, and "Like a Tree", straight from Psalm 1. 1200 young adults were singing straight from the Word, having it written on their hearts, whether they knew it or not!

Corey Russell spoke from Joel 2 and the need for the church to "wake up". He highlighted the church's love for everything but the Word of God and His ways, and used the biblical precedent of Joel 2 to call us to prayer meetings and a life of fasting and meditation on the Word. Dwayne followed up on Saturday morning with a similar teaching, calling young adults to the practical points of "waking up" by praying, fasting, meditating, and studying the Word with ferocity.

Merchant Band just led worship for the afternoon session, and breakout sessions are going on right now. I'll post a wrapup of those and tonight's session later on.

Some of the Minnesota locals have also been manning a prayer room here at the conference. It's been awesome to see so many of them giving themselves to the place of prayer and worship.

I've updated the Minneapolis photo gallery, so be sure to check them out.

Matt Gilman and Cory Asbury - Holy CD

Filled with deep devotion and worship, Matt Gilman and Cory Asbury reflect the pure sounds of Heaven in their debut album, entitled Holy. From beginning to end, this CD exudes the brightness of Christ and the freedom He can bring to the human soul. Mellow rock music and memorable lyrics capture the liberty Cory and Matt release through song, coupled with powerful melodic arrangements. I love serving with these guys, and I'm so blessed to know them. Click here to download the album at the IHOP MP3 store.
