The bid for the White House
Well, Sam Brownback dropped out of the '08 presidential race.
I normally don't speak up a ton about politics but my roommate has been telling me to take a look at Mike Huckabee for the next president. He is a former governor of Arkansas with lots of good convictions about righteousness and truth and the ways of Jesus. He does not support the murder of babies in the womb and firmly believes in the covenant of marriage is for a man and a woman only. While I do believe the economy, the war in Iraq, terrorism, and border control are important issues to consider, I believe our nation has a bigger problem on our hands - it's God Himself. If we don't turn and repent and walk in righteousness, we'll end up under the judgement of God. We need a righteous leader that understands that God is our greatest problem and leads our nation from that perspective.
But really though, I won't be fully satisfied until Jesus is president of the whole earth from Jerusalem and His glory covers the entire planet.

I'm off the fence
He plays bass in his band "Capitol Offense." Wouldn't it be great to have a bassist in office, someone who really knows what's going on. ;)
I wonder if he is on
I wonder if he is on iTunes... :)
Mike Huckabee
Yeah, my roommate pointed me to Mike Huckabee as well. Interesting guy. I recommend that people check out the Republican debates he has been a part of. Most are available on YouTube.
I'm with you Josh. We need Jesus to return and be the true King of the Earth. If we must have a leader in America, my prayer is that God would give us a man after His own heart and NOT a man after our hearts.
I'm with Mike, too
I can't remember when I've been so tuned in to a presidential candidate. I know that you can't legislate righteousness, but as a potential leader of our country, Mike seems to be a humble man of unwavering Biblical convictions, with clear ideas and vision for the nation, and on a mission to work with non-partisan civility among those of differing world/political views. In one speech, I think Mike put it (paraphrase), "I'm a conservative, but I'm not angry at anybody."

I heart Huckabee too
When I saw Huckabee hold his own with Stephen Colbert, AND be funny and articulate on his position without compromising for the sake of Comedy Central acceptability, I was intrigued. I like the guy a lot.
HUCKABEAST!
Obama, run for your mama... here comes the Huckabeast!
